It's a Girl!

Baby Shuff made her debut this morning! It's a girl! This is the best picture we got of her; you can see her face at the top and her spinal cord to the left. She'll be joining us around November 15th!

Lizards & Things

The following pictures were taken in our front
yard - yes I said our front yard. It's like going
to the zoo every day!

These geckoes are everywhere - we barely
stopped one from running in our front door
last week.

This is a Basilisk (aka: Jesus Lizard). When he
starts to run fast he will run on just his back
legs. And if he gets to water, he'll run right across
the top of it!

Just one of our resident iguanas! And yes this
is still in our front yard!

Now this guy just showed up while I was
quietly waiting for some lizards to appear.
He looks a little prehistoric to me.

Take a look at that skinni tail - squirrls don't
seem to be as plump down here are they are
in Kentucky!

I must confess these last two birds were
not found in my front yard as all the other pics.
Just in the canal across the street!

Lots of pretty colors around right

Florida Weather and a Quarrelsome Wife

We've had quite a bit of rain here recently. The sun can't seem to decide if it wants to stay out for more than ten minutes. We had a treat a few minutes ago, though, as I happened to look out our back window and see this rainbow. All of these pictures are taken from our roof; we can walk right out onto it from our back porch.

The palm tree is growing right beside our house--Tim, you and Austin can climb it when you all come down!

That's Danielle down there, looking cute and pregnent as always. We go for our ultrasound in a couple of weeks--we can't wait!

And finally, there's Craig on the roof of the house. As Scripture says, "Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife." (Proverbs 21:9) (Just kidding! It's great living with her!)

VBS, the beach, and a donut

This is our fish, Donut. We were worried that he might not make the 20+ hour ride from Louisville to Davie, but as you can see, he's doing just fine!

Craig officially started last week, at the same time that VBS started. It was a great time as we got to meet and know a lot of people from the church. There were 118 total kids for the week and many of them came to the service on Sunday morning. Thursday night, we had a picnic for all the kids and their families. Craig and a couple of the youth provided some music while the families enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, a rock climbing wall, petting zoo, pony rides and more. From what we could tell, everyone had a great time!

We're still settling into our new home. We've almost unpacked all of the boxes and will begin putting pictures on the walls soon. We took a break, though, on Monday and Tuesday as we visited Craig's grandparents in Cocoa Beach. It was good to see them and spend a little bit of time at the beach.

We're Here!

We've finally made it! We finally found time to make our first post, so for all of you who have been chomping at the bit (and I know there must be thousands of you), we're here! We'll use this blog to post pictures and brief updates of all that is going on with us here in Florida.

We had a rather uneventful trip down to Davie (which is, of course, a good thing). James and Nikki Konzem (friends from church in Louisville) rode down with us and stayed a few extra days. We had a great time and were sad to see them go. We've got most things unpacked and are settling in quickly. We got off to a fast start at the church as today was Craig's first official day on staff and it was the start of VBS. We are excited about this week because we'll get to meet so many new people.

Keep us posted on what's happening with you. You can leave comments here, send us an email, or give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
